That’s true! I had the first version, and it was a nightmare. I upgraded, and the difference is night and day.

Honestly, part of me thinks this is a conspiracy by Google to make us buy the latest model. Ever feel that way?

I think firmware plays a huge role in sound quality. Rolling back to an earlier version might help if the update didn’t work well.
Can you really roll back the firmware? I thought that was a one-way street.

I totally get the frustration! I had to factory reset mine after an update to fix the sound issues, and now they work perfectly.
I think it’s always a bit of a gamble with updates. Some fix bugs while others introduce new ones! Who knows what’s next?

At this point, I’m half convinced they just want us to buy new ones! Either that or their testing department needs a reality check.
