Why Do My Pixel Buds Sound So Low Quality?

I’ve been using my Pixel Buds for a while now, but lately, I’ve noticed that the audio quality has dropped significantly. It feels like I’m listening to music through a tin can rather than the crisp sound I used to enjoy.

Here are a few things I’ve tried:

  • Adjusting volume levels: I’ve messed with the volume on both my Pixel Buds and my phone, but it doesn’t seem to help much.
  • Resetting the earbuds: I followed the reset instructions, but the audio quality still feels off.
  • Testing with other devices: I paired my Pixel Buds with another smartphone, and the sound still felt low quality.
  • Checking Bluetooth settings: I ensured that my phone is updated and checked the Bluetooth settings, but I couldn’t find anything that seems to affect audio quality.

Has anyone else experienced this? What solutions did you find? Are there specific settings in the accessibility menu or audio settings that I might be overlooking? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences you could share because it’s getting frustrating not being able to enjoy my music as I used to!

Thanks for any help!

I noticed that Pixel Buds can sound lower in quality compared to other brands like Sony or Bose. It might be due to their focus on voice assist features instead of pure audio quality.

That’s interesting! I’ve been comparing them to my AirPods, and they seem less bass-heavy. Do you feel the same?

I think it’s a common issue, especially with the original Pixel Buds. They just don’t deliver the same audio punch that many competitors do, like the Sennheiser Momentum series.

Totally agree! Many users reported this before purchasing. Sometimes, high-quality sound isn’t just about the earbuds but also the source. What are you listening to?

I have tried several wireless earbuds and found the Pixel Buds somewhat lacking in clarity compared to my Jabra Elite. It seems like a balance between features and sound is tough to achieve.

That’s a good point, Tiffany! Maybe it’s just about personal preference. For example, I love the comfort and integration with Google Assistant, but I do notice the sound isn’t as vibrant.

You nailed it! It’s like choosing between features or audio. What other earbuds do you own? Maybe I should explore them!

I suspect sound compression plays a part too. Some users prefer higher bitrate connections which the Pixel Buds may not fully support. Testing with Hi-Fi audio could be revealing.

Honestly, I think there’s a lot of hype around these earbuds. Sure, they’re convenient, but if the sound doesn’t meet expectations, why not just get something like the Anker Soundcore?

Hype is subjective! They definitely have their place for casual use, but serious audiophiles might want to skip the Pixel Buds.

In the end, personal experience seems vital. I’ve had both good and bad experiences with Pixel Buds. It might be worthwhile to check if there’s an app update or any firmware adjustments that could help.

I’ve noticed that the sound quality can really dip when the equalizer settings are off. Make sure to check those in the Bluetooth settings!

That’s a great point! I’ve sometimes forgotten to reset my equalizer after an update, and it definitely affected the sound.

Also, connectivity issues can bring down the sound quality. Try to keep your device close and see if that helps!

Exactly! I had my Pixel Buds lose connection randomly, and it really messed with the audio. A quick reset helped, though.

Has anyone else played around with the Sound Amplifier app? It brought my audio back to life and made a huge difference.

I haven’t tried that yet, but I’ve heard it’s a game changer! Do you have to pay for it?

Nice! I would definitely give that a shot. Sound quality is vital for me, especially when I’m working out.

Nope, it’s free! But once you have it, you can really tweak the sound to your liking. It made my music sound way richer.
