I’ve been facing a frustrating issue with my Android phone lately - my incoming calls just won’t ring! I’ve tried a few things, but nothing seems to be working. Here’s what I’ve explored so far:
1. Check Sound Settings
Make sure your phone’s volume is turned up for ringtones and notifications.
Go to Settings > Sound & vibration, and check if the ringtone is set to something audible.
2. Do Not Disturb Mode
Sometimes, Do Not Disturb mode can accidentally be activated.
Check if it’s on by swiping down for the quick settings menu or navigating to Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb.
If it’s active, disable it and see if that resolves the issue.
3. Notification Settings
Make sure that notifications for calls are enabled.
Go to Settings > Apps > Phone (or Dialer) and ensure that notifications are allowed.
4. App Permissions
Check if the Phone app has the right permissions.
Go to Settings > Apps > Phone > Permissions and ensure it has access to everything it needs.
5. Safe Mode Test
To rule out any third-party app causing the issue, try booting your phone into Safe Mode.
If the calls ring in Safe Mode, then an app might be the culprit, and you may need to uninstall recently added apps to find the one causing the trouble.
6. Reset Settings
If nothing else works, consider resetting your app preferences via Settings > Apps > Menu > Reset app preferences. This will not delete your data but can fix misconfigurations.
7. Software Update
Sometimes bugs can be fixed with updates. Check for any available system updates in Settings > System > Software updates.
I’d love to hear if anyone else has faced this problem or if there are additional tips you might have to solve this. Thanks for any help in advance!
Have you checked your ringer settings? Sometimes it’s just a simple toggle that needs to be switched on. Make sure it’s not set to vibrate or silent mode!
