How to Set Up Android Messages to Auto-Delete OTPs?

But isn’t it also about being organized? I mean, I use a password manager to manage all my sensitive info. Maybe that’s a better option?

For sure, kyle48. Having all your sensitive info in one place can be much safer than relying solely on SMS OTPs.

I think auto-deletion can lead to a false sense of security. If someone has access to your phone, they could still compromise everything.

True, but ensuring that your phone is secure is another essential layer. Use PINs or biometrics!

I’ve actually set mine to auto-delete after 5 minutes! It reduces clutter significantly. Just need to be extra careful.

5 minutes? That’s bold, james74! What do you do if you need the OTP later? A gamble, but I like your adventurous spirit! :joy:

Reflecting on this, I think the biggest takeaway is to stay informed. Always reevaluate your security practices regularly.

I often face the same issue! My OTPs disappear before I can use them. Has anyone found a fix?

You’re definitely not alone, melissa89! I’ve noticed they vanish too. I think it might be linked to the auto-delete setting, but I can’t figure it out.

If you’re using the Messages app, go to Settings → Advanced and check the auto-delete feature. It’s supposed to keep messages for a certain period.

Thanks, cindysmith! I’ll try adjusting those settings. Hopefully, it works!

I’ve had OTPs deleted prematurely as well. Sometimes it feels like I need to take a screenshot just to save them for later!

So true, edaniels! It’s annoying when the system is supposed to help but ends up causing issues.

It seems like it’s a common issue with Android Messages. Curious if anyone has a workaround for this?

Exactly! I’ve tried notifications settings but still facing problems. Maybe switching to another messaging app could help?

I wonder if there’s a bug in the latest update that affects OTP deletions. Anyone else seen this connection?

I’ve thought about that too. Sometimes updates make things worse, don’t you think?

I just have to laugh! Can’t even keep track of important codes without them disappearing. Just make it crazier!

Why can’t they just have a dedicated folder for OTPs? Seems like that would solve the problem!

That would be awesome! Until then, I guess we just have to keep reaching out for support.
