Using touch to select text can be frustrating! But I’m also thinking about how I once dropped my keyboard and it messed up the arrow keys… oops!
LOL, I hope that’s not everyone’s experience. Sometimes I wonder if the keyboard ghosting is a real thing. Have you all noticed that too?
Ghosting? Sounds like a horror movie for keyboards! On a serious note, I think switching apps can clear up glitches like that, based on my experience.
If you’re looking for a keyboard with customizable arrow keys, I highly recommend Gboard. You can change the keyboard layout and remap arrow key functions easily in the settings.
That sounds great, bali! Does Gboard allow for any unique remapping of the arrow functions? I’ve been considering switching.
Absolutely! You can access advanced settings where you can configure those keys to your liking. Other keyboards like SwiftKey offer similar features too.
Does anyone know how to switch the keyboard layout on SwiftKey? I can’t seem to find that option.
In SwiftKey, check under ‘Languages’ in the settings menu. You can add different layouts and customize each key, including arrow keys!
That’s helpful, thanks! Are there any downsides to customizing these settings?
Sometimes, remapping can lead to confusion if you forget the new functions. It’s a good idea to keep backup settings just in case!
I always find it amusing how often I accidentally remap keys and then need to relearn my keyboard. Anyone else experience this?
Yes! It’s an educational experience. Just when you think you have it down, a tweak throws you off! Major keyboard learning curve.
It’s funny and frustrating at the same time. I wonder if some keyboards are better designed to handle customizations than others?
Some keyboards indeed handle customizations more intuitively. Gboard seems to excel here! What do you think, anyone had experiences with other brands?
