Anyone know of a good keyboard with arrow keys for Android?

I’ve been using my Android phone for both work and play, but I find typing and navigating without arrow keys to be a bit of a hassle. I’m looking for a physical or virtual keyboard that includes arrow keys specifically designed for Android devices.

Why I Need Arrow Keys

Using apps for text editing and gaming on my Android often feels clunky. I really miss the efficiency that arrow keys bring, especially for:

  • Editing text: Moving around quickly to correct typos without having to tap on the screen.
  • Navigating apps: Switching between different sections without losing focus or having to scroll extensively.

What I’m Looking For

Ideally, I’d love recommendations for:

  • Physical keyboards: Something portable but robust that I can take with me on the go.
  • Virtual keyboards: Are there any apps out there that offer a good layout with arrow keys?

My Current Setup

Right now, I’m just using the default keyboard that comes with Android, but it lacks the functionality I need. I’ve tried a few third-party apps, but I often find them lacking in design or usability.

Conclusion

If anyone has suggestions, I’d be really grateful. I want to enhance my typing experience and make navigation smoother on my Android device.

Thanks in advance for any tips or leads!

If you’re looking for a good keyboard with arrow keys for Android, Gboard is a top choice! It offers easy customization and has an integrated arrow key feature.

I love Gboard too! The prediction is usually spot on. But are there any other keyboards with similar features?

Check out SwiftKey as well! It has arrow keys and offers great customization options for themes and layouts. Plus, the swipe feature is really fun!

SwiftKey has always been my favorite! But does it work well with all apps, or just certain ones?

It works well across most apps! I use it daily for messaging and productivity apps. And customizing arrow key size is a huge plus!

Nice! Customization is key for me. Does SwiftKey allow for different key sizes?

Yes, you can choose the size and even the layout! Plus, there are many preset themes, which makes it visually appealing.

If you need something really lightweight, consider FancyKey. It has arrow keys and allows you to customize emojis too, but it’s not as feature-rich as Gboard or SwiftKey.

I’ve tried FancyKey, but I found it a bit clunky. The arrow key functionality was limited. Anyone else feel that way?

Definitely! FancyKey’s arrow keys feel cramped. It’s great for styling but not for serious tasks. I stick to Gboard for everyday use.

That’s what I hear! Seems like Gboard is the most recommended option here. I’m definitely leaning that way.

I recently switched to Gboard, and the arrow keys work flawlessly for me. It handles navigating documents really well. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Have you encountered any issues with lag when using the arrow keys? That was a problem for me with some other keyboards.

I used SwiftKey for a while, and my arrow keys would sometimes stop working. A simple app restart usually fixed it, but it was annoying!

I had issues with arrow keys in SwiftKey too. They would freeze occasionally. That’s why I switched to Gboard, no more problems!

Have you all tried checking the keyboard settings? Sometimes the arrow keys can get disabled by accident. It’s worth a look!

I actually tweak my keyboard settings all the time! But I’m curious about any experiences with Bluetooth keyboards. Do they handle the arrow keys well?

I use a Bluetooth keyboard with my Android tablet, and the arrow keys work perfectly. No lag or freezing at all.

I find physical keyboards great, but somedays I miss touch functionality. Is it just me, or do you all feel the same sometimes?
