WiFi Saved But Not Connecting - Need Some Help!

Issue Description

It seems I’ve encountered a frustrating problem with my Android phone. The Wi-Fi network shows as saved, and I’m even able to connect to it, but I can’t access the internet or use any online services. It’s so annoying because everything seems fine on my end, yet I still can’t get online.

Steps I’ve Tried

I’ve done a few troubleshooting steps so far, but nothing seems to work. Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • Restarted my phone: A classic first step, but no luck.
  • Forgot the network: I removed the Wi-Fi network and re-entered the password. Still nothing.
  • Restarted my router: I hoped that a quick reset would do the trick, but I’m still stuck.
  • Checked for updates: I made sure my Android software is up to date, and it is.
  • Toggled Airplane Mode: Sometimes switching this on and off helps, but didn’t make a difference here.

Additional Information

  • Device Model: I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S21.
  • Router Model: It’s a Netgear Nighthawk RAX40.

Request for Help

If anyone has faced similar issues or has troubleshooting tips that could help me get back online, I would really appreciate the advice! Have you found any specific settings to check or adjustments that made a difference? Any help would be awesome!

Thanks in advance for your support!

Have you tried restarting your router? It often solves connectivity issues! Just unplug it, wait for about 30 seconds, and plug it back in. That usually does the trick.

I agree! Restarting can work wonders. Also, don’t forget to check if your device is still connected to the right network. That has tripped me up in the past!

Make sure you forget the network on your device and then reconnect. Sometimes, networks get confused and need a little nudge to start fresh!

That’s a great tip! It’s surprising how many people overlook this step. Definitely worth trying if restarting doesn’t help!

Another thing to check: are there any software updates available for your device? Keeping everything up to date can prevent all sorts of problems!

That’s a good point! I had issues once because my phone was running an outdated version of its software. Definitely check that!

Support is key in these moments! You’re not alone—everyone’s faced Wi-Fi issues at some point. Just take it one step at a time.

I had similar problems last week and resetting my network settings did the trick! It might help to try that if all else fails.

That’s a solid suggestion. A reset usually clears quite a few stubborn issues.

Is it possible that your ISP is having issues? It can be easy to overlook this. A quick check on their website might save you time!

I hadn’t thought of that! It’s definitely worth a quick lookup. They could be down and it’s not your fault at all!

Just to add a bit of humor: If your Wi-Fi was a superhero, it would be ‘The Disappearing Act!’ Can be frustrating but I hope these tips help!

Reflecting on this, it seems that Wi-Fi issues are one of those universal annoyances we can all relate to. Patience is key while troubleshooting!

Very true! It’s all about persistence. You’ll probably solve it soon!

Have you checked if your device supports WPA3? Some older devices can have issues connecting to newer Wi-Fi standards. Compatibility can really affect your experience.

That’s a good point! I had trouble with my old phone connecting to a new router until I changed the security settings to WPA2.

Also, make sure you’re not using mixed mode on the router. It can cause strange behavior if a device prefers an older security protocol.

Good idea! I didn’t realize that could lead to connectivity issues. I had my router on mixed mode for ages.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with their smart devices? I had to disable WPA3 to get my smart bulb to connect. Just curious if that’s a common issue.
