I’ve been having some trouble with downloading MMS messages on my Android device. It seems like every time someone sends me a multimedia message, I receive a notification, but then it says ‘message not downloaded’. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Check Mobile Data: I made sure that my mobile data is switched on since MMS typically doesn’t work over Wi-Fi unless configured to do so.
  2. APN Settings: I checked my Access Point Name (APN) settings to make sure they’re correctly configured for my carrier. Sometimes incorrect settings can prevent MMS from being downloaded.
  3. Storage Space: I cleared some unnecessary files and made sure I have enough storage space on my device to handle incoming MMS messages.
  4. Update Messaging App: I updated my Google Messages app to the latest version available on the Play Store.
  5. Network Issues: I tried switching to different networks (like turning on/off airplane mode) to see if that resolves the problem.

I had a similar issue! It turned out that my mobile data was turned off. Make sure you have that enabled and check your network settings.

I had a friend who used to think turning off Wi-Fi was enough. Sometimes switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data helps, too! Have you tried that?

Absolutely, john52! I switched to Telegram, and it seems much smoother for sending and receiving large files. Have you noticed differences in download speeds?

Yes, Telegram definitely has faster downloads. I think it has to do with how they manage their servers. What settings do you have for auto-downloads?
