I’ve recently noticed that the microphone feature on my Samsung keyboard has stopped working, and it’s really throwing off my voice input.
What I’ve Tried
I checked the settings on my keyboard to make sure the microphone option is still enabled. It is, but nothing happens when I tap the microphone icon.
I restarted my phone, hoping that a fresh boot might resolve any temporary glitches. Unfortunately, it didn’t help.
I also made sure the app permissions for the keyboard were set to allow microphone access.
Possible Causes?
Software Update: I recently updated my phone’s software, and I’ve read that sometimes updates can cause features to behave unexpectedly. Has anyone else experienced something similar after an update?
App-Specific Issue: I’m mainly trying to use the microphone in messaging apps. Could this be more of an app issue than a keyboard problem?
Physical Damage: I don’t think my microphone is damaged, but it’s worth asking if anyone thinks physical damage could be an issue?
Looking for Solutions
I’m really seeking advice on how to troubleshoot this issue. If anyone has insights or suggestions on what I should try next, it would be greatly appreciated! Whether it’s changing settings, reinstalling the keyboard, or checking for any known bugs, I’m all ears.
I had the same issue! First, check if the microphone permission is enabled for the keyboard app in your settings. Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Keyboard > Permissions.
I had the same issue with my Samsung keyboard mic - it just disappeared one day! I found that clearing the app cache worked for me. Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Keyboard > Storage, and clear the cache.
Thanks for sharing, guys! I also experienced this issue. Sometimes, just toggling the microphone setting on and off in the keyboard settings does the trick.
I’ve been there! I thought my mic was broken. But it turned out I just had to allow microphone permissions under Settings > Apps. Once I did that, it was back!
