I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced their ‘voice to text’ functionality disappearing after the recent Android update on their Samsung devices. It’s been incredibly frustrating since I rely on this feature for messaging and note-taking.
What’s Happened?
After installing the latest software update, I noticed that the voice input option on my Gboard keyboard is completely gone. I’ve tried a few things to troubleshoot:
Check Keyboard Settings: I ensured that Gboard is set as my default keyboard and that voice input is enabled in the settings.
Permissions: I verified that Gboard has all the necessary permissions, especially microphone access.
Cleared Cache: I cleared the cache and data for Gboard in the App Settings.
Reinstall Gboard: I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Gboard, but the voice input feature still didn’t return.
System Restart: Sometimes a simple restart helps, but no luck here.
What I’m Looking For
I’m really hoping to get some insights or solutions from this community.
Has anyone else faced this issue?
What steps have you taken to resolve it?
Is it possible that this feature has been removed in the update or is it just a temporary glitch?
Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I just want to get my voice to text feature back and be able to use my phone more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your help!
Ever since the last update on my Pixel 5, the voice to text feature has been hit or miss. Sometimes it works perfectly, and other times it just won’t respond. It’s frustrating!
