Textra’s integration with other apps is nice, especially for sending media. But I’ve been using Google Messages for your standard messages, and it’s perfectly reliable.
True, but Textra’s customization makes it feel special. Does reliability mean more if it’s not enjoyable to use?
I think both have their merits. Personally, I prefer Textra for its fun features. I wish Google Messages had more customization options!

For me, it’s the reliability of sending and receiving messages. Both apps perform well in that aspect, which is great!

Google Messages has been my go-to. It integrates seamlessly with RCS, and I’ve found it very fast for regular SMS and MMS. No major bugs for me yet, but I wish it had more customization options like Textra!

battery usage? Ha! My phone’s always dying anyway! I’ve noticed Textra can be a bit heavier, but it’s so worth it for the customization! Who doesn’t love a good theme?

Absolutely! I often don’t get notifications from Google Messages unless I open the app. It’s quite annoying! Textra has been better for me with notifications, but I wish it was more consistent with delivery speeds.

Haha! I don’t know about horror stories, but I did once use it at a wedding! Complete chaos with missing texts. To this day, I stick with Textra for events!
