I’ve been having some trouble with the voice-to-text feature on my Samsung Galaxy S22. It used to work perfectly, but now it just isn’t picking up my voice like it used to. I rely on this feature for messaging and taking notes, so it’s pretty frustrating! Here’s what I’ve already tried:

Steps I’ve Taken

  1. Restarted my phone - basic but sometimes effective.
  2. Checked my microphone - it seems to be working fine for other apps.
  3. Cleared the cache for the Voice ➜ Voice Typing app.
  4. Made sure my software is up to date - I check for updates regularly.
  5. Tried using different apps - like Google Keep and messaging apps, but still no luck.

Questions:

  • Has anyone else faced this issue?
  • Are there any specific settings or permissions I might have missed?
  • Could there be any conflicts with other apps that use the microphone?

Additional Info:

  • I’m using Voice Typing in multiple languages, and it used to switch seamlessly.

Yes! My S22 struggles to recognize names correctly. It changes ‘John’ to ‘gone’ all the time. Super frustrating!

Have you tried training the voice recognition feature? I found that helped a bit with accuracy on my phone.

Training it seemed to work for a while, but then it just went back to misinterpreting words. Very odd!

Same here! The car noise really affects it. I wish it could adapt better to different environments!

The feature works great sometimes, but I’ve noticed that in crowded places, it just stops picking up any voice. So odd!

Exactly! I was in a café and it completely failed. I laughed when it tried to turn ‘coffee’ into ‘coughing’!

It’s a rollercoaster! Sometimes it works well for dictating notes, and other times, it feels like the phone is on a break. So frustrating!

Let’s start with the basics. Have you checked if your microphone is blocked or if the app has permission to use it? Sometimes that’s the issue!

I had a similar problem. Try going to Settings > Apps > Google > Permissions and make sure Microphone is enabled. That fixed the issue for me!
