Pixel 6 Not Receiving Texts - Need Help!

I’ve been having a frustrating issue with my Pixel 6 where I’m not receiving any text messages. I’ve tried a few basic troubleshooting methods, but nothing seems to work. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Restarted the Phone: A classic first step, sometimes a simple reboot can resolve some glitches.
  2. Checked Network Signal: I’ve made sure I have a good signal, and I’m not in airplane mode or out of service.
  3. Updated Software: I checked for any software updates and made sure my phone is running the latest version.
  4. Cleared Messaging App Cache: I went into the settings and cleared the cache of my messaging app to see if that would help.
  5. Verified App Permissions: All necessary permissions for the messaging app seem to be enabled.
  6. Checked Message Settings: I took a look at the settings related to messages to ensure everything seems okay.

Questions:

  • Has anyone else experienced this issue with their Pixel 6?
  • What steps did you take to resolve it?
  • Could it be related to carrier settings or something else?

I’m hoping to get some guidance on what else I could try or if there’s any known fix for this. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m also having issues. Have you checked your message app settings? Sometimes notifications can get turned off mistakenly.

That’s a great point! I found mine set to silent mode. You can also try toggling airplane mode on and off; it sometimes resets network issues.

Don’t forget to restart your device! I often overlook it, but that’s a classic fix. It solves many issues.

Exactly! A simple restart sometimes does the trick. Also, check if your app needs an update.

Clearing the app cache is another useful step. Go to Settings > Apps > your messaging app, and clear the cache. It worked for me!

I’ve heard that too! What a hassle if you’re waiting for important texts. Have you checked your SIM card?

Great tip, jalvarez! Just make sure your SIM isn’t damaged. Have you tried re-inserting it? Sometimes it helps.

That’s something I had completely forgotten! I’ll try that next. Thanks for the reminder!

If all else fails, you might want to factory reset your phone. Hopefully, it doesn’t come to that. Back up your data first!

Yikes! That’s drastic. Have you also considered checking your network settings? Make sure you have a good connection.

Totally! But sometimes it feels like my phone has a mind of its own. Anyone else think phones have feelings? Haha!

Haha! If only! Maybe they just need a little TLC. But seriously, make sure your software is updated too.

I reflect on these issues too often. If a simple fix like those mentioned doesn’t work, you might consider contacting your carrier.

True! Sometimes they can see issues we can’t. Hope everyone gets those texts sorted out!

I’ve had similar issues with my Pixel 6 where texts just wouldn’t come through. It turned out to be my carrier settings. Check if you have the latest settings updates from your carrier!

Exactly, fhenderson! Some carriers have better service in certain areas. Make sure to also check if your plan includes messaging features.

Great tip! I’ve noticed that network compatibility can play a big role. I switched carriers and the text reception improved drastically.

I had huge issues with my Pixel 6 on T-Mobile. After adjusting some APN settings, everything seems to work now. Have you tried that?

I haven’t tried changing the APN settings yet. Do you have specific ones you changed?
