I’ve recently noticed that my phone has started making some really weird noises. It’s not a consistent sound, but it seems to happen at random times - sometimes when I receive a notification, and other times when I’m just browsing through apps or even when the phone is idle.

Types of Noises

  • Buzzing or vibrating: It sounds like there’s a low hum that won’t go away.
  • Clicking sounds: Almost like a mechanical noise that resembles an old school camera shutter, but it’s definitely coming from within the phone.
  • Static sounds: Similar to white noise, typically happening during a call.

Troubleshooting Steps I’ve Tried

  1. Restarting the Phone: I’ve turned it off and on multiple times, which temporarily helps but the noise returns.
  2. Clearing Cache: I went through the apps and cleared the cache, but that didn’t seem to solve the issue.
  3. Checking for Updates: My phone is fully updated, so I’m not missing out on any new fixes.
  4. Safe Mode: I booted into safe mode to see if a third-party app might be the culprit, but the noise persisted.

I’ve experienced weird noises too! Often, it’s just a mechanical issue with the vibration motor. If the phone is dropped, the motor can get misaligned. Check for any physical damage first.
