I’m having a frustrating problem with my Android phone lately. It seems to be registering taps and clicks on its own—often referred to as ‘ghost touches.’ This started happening out of nowhere, and it’s making it nearly impossible to use my phone. I’ve tried a few things, but nothing seems to be working. Here’s a bit more detail on what’s going on:
Symptoms
Randomly opening apps: My phone will open random applications without me touching the screen.
Scrolling issues: Sometimes when reading texts or web pages, the screen scrolls by itself.
Inability to click: Other times, I can’t click on anything because it’s like the screen is malfunctioning.
What I’ve Tried
Restarting the Phone: I thought a simple restart could solve the issue, but it didn’t help.
Checking for Malware: I ran a scan using a trusted antivirus app, but it didn’t find anything suspicious.
Cleaning the Screen: I made sure the screen was clean. Even dirt can cause issues, right?
Safe Mode: Booted the phone in safe mode to see if it was a third-party app causing the problem, but it behaved the same way.
Seeking Advice
I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has experienced this issue or has any troubleshooting tips to help me out. Could this be a hardware issue with the touch screen, or is it more likely to be software-related? Should I attempt a factory reset, or is there any other way to diagnose the problem?
Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
You guys are talking about all this technical stuff; I just want my phone to behave! It sounds like a sci-fi movie where phones gain a mind of their own.
