Looking for Samsung Gear 360 App Alternatives!

Hey everyone,

I’m diving into 360-degree photography and have been primarily using the Samsung Gear 360 camera. However, I find myself frustrated with the Gear 360 app. It’s not very user-friendly, and I feel limited by its functionalities.

I’m on the lookout for alternative applications on Android that can help enhance my experience or even replace the Gear 360 app. Here are some features I’m particularly interested in:

Key Features I’m Seeking:

  • Seamless Video Capture: I want an app that can record high-quality, smooth 360-degree videos without lag.
  • Photo Editing Tools: An integrated editor would be amazing! I’d like to quickly edit my photos and videos within the app itself.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Something that’s easy to navigate would save me tons of time.
  • Cloud Storage Options: I’d love to be able to store my content in the cloud for easier access and sharing.
• Social Media Integration: Quick sharing options to platforms like Instagram and Facebook would be awesome.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

I’ve looked into a few apps, but nothing seems to match up to my expectations.

  • Insta360: I had a brief encounter with it, but it didn’t cover all my needs, particularly in photo editing.
  • Google Street View: Great for image capture, but it’s more focused on creating maps than personal photography.

Questions:

  • Have any of you found alternatives that you swear by?
  • What apps have you had success with in terms of functionality and usability?

Your insights would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers!

I’ve been using the Insta360 app for editing my 360-degree photos. It’s super user-friendly and has great features for filters and effects!

Have you tried GoPro VR Player? I’ve heard it’s good for viewing and minor edits, especially if you already own GoPro gear!

I tried it, but I found it quite limited for editing. It’s more for playback than editing, in my experience. Anyone else think so?

So true! I prefer Ricoh Theta app, which provides more robust editing options. Have you checked it out?

Ricoh Theta is fantastic for photo stitching and sharing. I had great results with it! The controls can be a bit tricky, though.

No way! I’ve just found the VeeR VR app, and it’s great for sharing and even supports live streaming! Anyone else tried it?

I love VeeR! It’s so easy to use. The community is vibrant as well. Have you shared anything on it yet?

Not yet, but I’m excited to! I also discovered that VeeR allows for some neat 360 filters! Definitely worth exploring.

That sounds great! I’m looking for social interaction in my editing apps too.

By the way, if you like something humorous, try the Bimostitch app for easy stitching of 360 photos. The name always cracks me up!

I’ve heard of it! Not sure if the name outweighs its actual functionality though.

It does have a quirky interface, but I’ve found it helpful for quick edits. Sometimes, simple is better than complex!

What about the Street View app? I found it very handy for uploading 360 photos, especially for location tagging.

Street View is great for immediate sharing, but how does it handle editing? Is it a good option for serious projects?

For editing, it’s quite basic. However, it does the job for straightforward uploads. It’s all about your needs, honestly.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! It’s helping me narrow down my choices. Any final thoughts before I dive in?
