LG Stylo 5 Screen Faded with Lines - Any Fixes?

I’m having a frustrating issue with my LG Stylo 5 where the screen has become faded and there are visible lines running through it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Here’s what I’ve noticed:

  • Appearance: The screen looks dull and the colors are not vibrant at all.
  • Lines: There are these faint lines that run vertically across the display, which are really annoying when I’m trying to use my phone.
  • Duration: This started happening a few days ago, and it’s been getting progressively worse.

Things I’ve Tried:

  • Restarting the phone
  • Checking for software updates
  • Adjusting display settings, but nothing seems to help.

Questions:

  1. Is this likely a hardware issue, or could it be software-related?
  2. Should I take it to a repair shop, or are there any DIY fixes that I could try?
  3. Is replacing the screen a viable option, or is it better to consider getting a new phone?

Any advice or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I’ve noticed that the LG Stylo 5 screens can fade due to hardware issues like a failing display or loose connections. Physical damage can also cause lines to appear. Have you dropped your phone recently?

Not that I remember! But I do keep it in my pocket. Could that be enough to cause problems?

Screen fading can also happen due to software glitches or outdated firmware. Have you checked for any available updates?

I haven’t done that yet! I’ll check now to see if there’s anything available.

I once had a similar issue with faded lines. It turned out to be a loose display connector. A quick fix at a repair shop solved the problem!

That’s encouraging! Did it cost a lot to fix?

Probably around $50 or so, but worth it compared to a new phone! Sometimes age can also affect the screen quality regardless of care.

Yeah, I’ve had mine for over a year now! Time for some maintenance, I guess.

Be cautious with overheating too. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can make screens worse. Avoid leaving it in hot places!

Definitely! I think I left it in my car last week. Could that have caused the issue?

That might contribute to it, yes! Heat can damage components over time. Just be mindful of where you keep it!

You might have to consider a factory reset if software updates don’t work. Just back up important stuff first!

Great point! I’d hate to lose my photos or apps. I’ll try updating first before resorting to that.

Honestly, it could just be your screen dying. If it’s a hardware problem, DIY fixes might not help much. But you could give it a go if you’re tech-savvy.

DIY sounds risky! I’m not great with tech, so I’ll probably stick to professional help.

A little humor—maybe the phone’s just tired of your text messages? Just kidding! Definitely get it looked at, though.

I’ve had a similar issue with my LG Stylo 5. One thing that worked for me was a factory reset. It cleared up the screen fading, at least for a while. Just back up your data first!

I definitely agree! A factory reset can sometimes bring back the screen clarity, but it might be worth checking the display settings before that. Maybe the brightness setting is too low?

If you haven’t already, try updating your software. Sometimes, screen issues can be resolved with the latest updates. Go to Settings > System > Updates.
