Issues with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Screen Colors – Any Tips?

I recently got my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, and while I’m loving the features, I’m really struggling with the screen colors. Some days, the colors look washed out, and I’m not sure if it’s just me or if there’s something wrong with the settings.

Here are a few things I’ve noticed:

  • Vivid vs. Natural Modes: I’ve tried switching between vivid and natural color modes, but the difference isn’t as pronounced as I expected. What are others experiencing?
  • Brightness Levels: I keep my brightness maxed during the day, but even then, some images appear dull. Does anyone else face this?
  • Screen Calibration: I’ve read about screen calibration options but haven’t been able to find anything in the settings that really allows me to customize the display to my liking. Are there specific settings I should be looking for?

I really want to enhance the vibrancy of the display without messing things up.

Would love to hear about experiences, tips for settings, or any solutions that have worked for you!

I’ve been struggling with the screen colors on my S22 Ultra too. You can calibrate colors by going to Settings > Display > Screen mode. There are options to adjust the color balance which can really help!

I had no idea about that! I’ve just been using the default settings. I’ll definitely check that out!

You can also adjust the saturation levels manually. Just head to Settings > Display > Advanced Settings and fiddle with the sliders until it looks right for you. It makes a big difference!

That sounds fun! I love tweaking settings. Has anyone tried the ‘Vivid’ mode? Is it too much?

I prefer Vivid mode! It really pops, especially for photos. Just be careful, some might find it a bit oversaturated for regular use though.

You can also use the ‘Natural’ mode for a more balanced display if Vivid is too intense for your taste. It’s all about personal preference!

I tried the Natural mode, but it felt a bit dull to me. Do you find it less vibrant in comparison?

I agree with you, jnelson! Natural mode can be underwhelming. I always switch back to Vivid for daily use.

It seems like Vivid is the common favorite. Any tips on further color adjustments?

Using the ‘Display Calibration’ feature can enhance the colors. Check it out under Settings if you haven’t yet! It lets you set your own preferences too.

Also, remember to reset to factory settings if you feel like things are a bit off after making changes! Sometimes too much tweaking can get chaotic.

I’ve noticed that the screen colors on my S22 Ultra can look oversaturated compared to my last phone, a Pixel. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have the same issue! The colors can be too vibrant sometimes. What setting adjustments have you made?

I’ve compared the S22 Ultra display with the iPhone 13 Pro, and honestly, I prefer the iPhone’s more natural color representation. It feels more true to life.

Interesting point! I wonder if Apple tunes their displays differently? Maybe Samsung prioritizes vibrant colors for media consumption.

I’ve found that adjusting the screen mode to ‘Natural’ instead of ‘Vivid’ helps a lot with the color oversaturation on my S22 Ultra.

Thanks for the tip, @michael19! I’ve been hesitating to change the settings. How does it compare now to other brands after that adjustment?
