I’m pretty sure I broke my slot by forcing the SIM card in. Did anyone else experience a physical malfunction?

Ouch! That sounds tough. If it’s broken, you might need to get it checked at a service center. No reason to end up with a half functioning phone.
Totally agree! It also helped me to check for dust or debris inside the slot. Sometimes a simple clean can work wonders!
