How to Remove Emergency Call Option from Lock Screen?

Seeking Help with Lock Screen Settings

Hey folks,
I’ve been trying to find a way to remove the emergency call option from the lock screen on my Android device. I want to make sure that I don’t accidentally make an emergency call when trying to unlock my phone, plus I think it would just clean up my lock screen a bit.

If anyone has experience with this or knows of the specific steps I need to follow, I would really appreciate your advice!

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Looked in the Settings: I’ve gone through the settings menu, but I’m having trouble finding the right section.
  • Checked online: I searched for videos and articles, but none specifically addressed my phone model, which is a [insert your phone model here].

What I need help with:

  • How to access the lock screen settings on my device?
  • Are there any options to disable the emergency call feature?
  • Do I need to download any third-party apps to accomplish this?

I’d love to hear your recommendations or any tips that have worked for you! Thanks in advance for your help, really appreciate it!

Cheers!

I’ve been trying to figure out how to remove the emergency call option from my lock screen as well. It seems like the process varies by device. What’s your device model?

Absolutely! On some Android models, you can go to Settings > Security > Lock Screen and toggle it off. It’s usually under the advanced options.

@roger34, that’s really helpful! I’m using an iPhone, though. Is there a similar way to remove it?

On iPhones, the emergency call is built-in and can’t be removed entirely. You can limit access to it while the phone is locked by adjusting the settings under Face ID & Passcode.

Just a thought—removing the emergency call option might make it harder to get help in critical situations. Anyone consider this before making changes?

That’s a good point, @desiree00. Safety should always come first! But a little less accidental dialing could be nice too.

Exactly! On my Samsung, I’ve disabled the emergency call button, but I still worry about the safety aspect. Devices are all so different, it’s tricky.

I think manufacturers should offer clearer options for this. @bobby38, which settings did you change?

It’s mostly under the Lock Screen settings. You need to look for ‘Emergency SOS’ options and turn them off. Each model has its quirks, that’s for sure!

Thanks, @morrisaaron! I’ll look for that. But it’s surprising to see such differences. Ever thought about why that might be?

I think it’s all about how each brand differentiates itself! Some focus more on security, while others prioritize user customization. A little quirky for sure! But hey, what’s a little chaos in functionality?

Haha, @wgreene, I love your take! Chaos in tech is like having too many remotes—just adds to the fun and confusion! Seriously though, finding a balance is key.

I’ve been struggling with that too! A good option is to look into customizing settings under ‘Accessibility’. Some phones allow you to disable the emergency call feature directly.

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t realize that was an option. What specific settings should I look for?

You can also try third-party lock screen apps like ‘Hi Locker’ which offer more customization options without the emergency call button.

Nice, I’ll check out Hi Locker! Are there any others you’d recommend?

I’ve heard good things about ‘Lock Screen Widget’ too. It lets you customize everything, including removing that pesky emergency call button.

That sounds great, but what if my phone doesn’t support third-party apps? Is there any built-in solution?

Some phones allow you to adjust security settings in ‘Settings’ > ‘Security’ > ‘Screen lock’. You might find options to limit or hide emergency features.
