I’m having a bit of a struggle with Visual Voicemail on my Android device and could really use some help! As some of you might know, Visual Voicemail can be quite handy, but I find it unnecessary and would prefer to get rid of it entirely.
The Issue
The main problem I’m facing is that I can’t seem to uninstall the app. I’ve tried the usual methods, like going into the settings and checking for an uninstall option, but it seems to be embedded as a system app.
What I’ve Tried
Settings Menu: I checked under Settings > Apps, but there’s no uninstall button.
Disabling the App: I attempted to disable it, but I couldn’t find an option to do that either.
Google Search: I’ve rummaged through various forums and help sites, but most solutions revolve around just disabling notifications or using a different app instead of completely getting rid of it.
What I Need
If anyone has tips on how I can either:
Fully uninstall Visual Voicemail?
Or at least disable it so it doesn’t interfere with my regular voicemail?
Any sort of guidance or step-by-step instructions would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance for your help! Looking forward to your suggestions!
To uninstall Visual Voicemail on Android, go to Settings > Apps > Visual Voicemail. From there, you can disable or uninstall the app. Make sure to check for any updates on your device as the steps might vary slightly by manufacturer.
Great tip! If you’re using a third-party voicemails app, you may need to go into the app itself to find the uninstall option. Always backup your messages first!
On iOS, uninstalling Visual Voicemail is similar. Just find the Phone app, press and hold, and select ‘Remove App’. You’ll still have your regular voicemail!
No, it won’t affect your voicemail. You’ll just be removing the convenience of a visual interface. You can always check your voicemail the traditional way!
I’ve struggled with uninstalling Visual Voicemail, especially on Samsung devices! The process can be different depending on the version of One UI you’re using.
If your device doesn’t allow direct uninstallation, you might want to try disabling the app instead. Head to Settings > Apps and then select ‘Disable’.
I’ve been struggling to uninstall Visual Voicemail too! Every time I try, I get an error message saying ‘App can’t be removed.’ Anyone else faced this?
Totally agree! It’s like they want to keep the bloatware. I think some manufacturers make it extra complicated to force you into using their default apps.
I have a theory: maybe they really believe Visual Voicemail is super useful! Like, ‘Oh, they’ll just grow to love it!’ But it’s really just a headache. Anyone with me?
