Seeking Help with Visual Voicemail

Hey everyone,

I’m having a bit of a struggle with Visual Voicemail on my Android device and could really use some help! As some of you might know, Visual Voicemail can be quite handy, but I find it unnecessary and would prefer to get rid of it entirely.

The Issue

The main problem I’m facing is that I can’t seem to uninstall the app. I’ve tried the usual methods, like going into the settings and checking for an uninstall option, but it seems to be embedded as a system app.

What I’ve Tried

  • Settings Menu: I checked under Settings > Apps, but there’s no uninstall button.
  • Disabling the App: I attempted to disable it, but I couldn’t find an option to do that either.
  • Google Search: I’ve rummaged through various forums and help sites, but most solutions revolve around just disabling notifications or using a different app instead of completely getting rid of it.

What I Need

If anyone has tips on how I can either:

  • Fully uninstall Visual Voicemail?
  • Or at least disable it so it doesn’t interfere with my regular voicemail?

On iOS, uninstalling Visual Voicemail is similar. Just find the Phone app, press and hold, and select ‘Remove App’. You’ll still have your regular voicemail!

No, it won’t affect your voicemail. You’ll just be removing the convenience of a visual interface. You can always check your voicemail the traditional way!

Clearing cache is a great tip! Just make sure to go into the app settings, select Visual Voicemail, and do that before attempting to uninstall again.

Totally agree! It’s like they want to keep the bloatware. I think some manufacturers make it extra complicated to force you into using their default apps.
