Help! Message Not Sent - Couldn't Resize Video!

I’ve been trying to send a video message from my Android phone, but I keep running into this frustrating issue where I get an error saying, “message not sent couldn’t resize video.” It’s really annoying because I want to share these clips but can’t seem to get them to go through.

Troubleshooting Steps I’ve Tried:

  • Check Video Length: I made sure it wasn’t too long. It’s under 30 seconds, but still no luck.
  • File Format: My videos are in MP4 format, which I’ve heard is generally fine for messaging apps, but maybe that’s an issue?
  • Internet Connection: My Wi-Fi is solid, so I don’t think it’s a connectivity issue.

What I’m Looking For:

I’m hoping some of you can share your experiences or any solutions that worked for you. Here are a few specific questions I have:

  • Video Compression: Is there a recommended app or method to compress videos without losing quality?
  • Changing Formats: Should I convert the video to a different format? If so, what format works best for sending videos?
  • Other Options: Are there any other suggestions or troubleshooting tips that might help me send my video?

Additional Info:

  • Device: I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S21.
  • Messaging App: I usually send videos through WhatsApp, but I’d be open to alternatives if necessary.

Hoping someone out there can help me out with this! Thanks in advance for any tips or tricks you can provide.

I can relate, I’ve faced video sending issues too! Make sure your video format is supported by the platform. Common formats like MP4 and MOV usually work best.

Also, check the resolution! Some platforms can be really picky. They might only accept videos under a certain resolution.

If the video is too large, it might not resize automatically. Consider compressing the video first or using a lower resolution. That usually helps.

Exactly! Different platforms have varying limits. It’s always good to check their guidelines.

I had similar troubles! Using formats like AVI or MKV sometimes causes issues. Switching to MP4 helped me a lot.

For real! MP4 is pretty much the universal format at this point. Just be careful with that resolution!

Does anyone know if there’s a specific resolution limit? I tried 1080p and it failed to send.

Most platforms have a 720p limit for uploads. Try resizing your video to that resolution and see if it goes through!

Great tip! But why do they restrict higher resolutions? It doesn’t seem right.

It could be due to bandwidth issues. Who wants to wait forever for a video to upload? But still, I wish they would support higher resolutions.

Or maybe they’re just testing our patience! :joy: But seriously, does anyone use video converters?

I do! HandBrake is my go-to for resizing videos without losing quality.

I’ve heard good things about HandBrake! Is it easy to use? I wouldn’t mind trying it out.

Totally! Just drag and drop your video and choose your desired format and resolution. Very user-friendly!

I’ve run into the same issue before! Often, checking the file size and format can help. Make sure your video is within the platform’s limits.

Thanks for that tip! What is the typical file size limit for videos?

Usually, it’s around 500MB, but check the FAQs of the platform you’re using. Sometimes it’s lower, like 100MB!

I’ve had success by resizing the video using software like HandBrake to compress the size before uploading. It works like a charm!
