Help! Marriott Wi-Fi DNS Failure on My Android Phone

Sure! Go to your Wi-Fi settings, long-press the network, select ‘Modify Network’, then check ‘Show Advanced Options’. You can enter the DNS there.

I had to reboot my phone and my router before I could connect. Not ideal, but it worked!

Yes! Sometimes a simple restart can clear up connection issues. Glad to hear that worked for you.

Feeling your pain! This sometimes happens in crowded areas like hotels. Have you tried switching to airplane mode for a moment and then turning it off?

I haven’t tried that yet! I’ll give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion!

It’s frustrating, but sometimes these issues resolve themselves after a little while. Make sure your phone’s software is up to date too!

Good point! I usually forget about that. Updating can fix many underlying issues.

I wonder if this is a known bug with Marriott networks? So many people seem to have this issue.

I’ve read about this online. They might be having some technical difficulties. It’s definitely not just you!

You know what they say: ‘Where there’s Wi-Fi, there’s a way!’ – or not, in this case! :joy:

Haha, that’s true! Let’s keep trying until we find a solution. Maybe we can start a support group! :joy:

I reflect on how dependent we’ve become on Wi-Fi. It’s such a simple thing that can cause so much frustration!

So true! It can really ruin your day when you just want to check your emails.

I recently stayed at a Marriott and had the same DNS failure on my Android. It was really frustrating! I ended up using my mobile hotspot, which saved the day. Make sure to check your settings, too!

I’ve experienced the same! Sometimes just switching to a different DNS server in the network settings can help. Have you tried that?

Using a VPN can also make a big difference with hotel Wi-Fi. It not only bypasses the DNS issues but also adds an extra layer of security when browsing.

True! I’ve used ExpressVPN during my travels, and it worked great even with the DNS glitches at Marriott.

Mobile hotspots are a lifesaver! I was on a business trip, and the hotel Wi-Fi went down. My hotspot kept me connected for the whole week. Highly recommend it!

I typically just download the content I need before traveling. That way, if the Wi-Fi fails, I’m not left in the lurch. It’s a good backup plan!

That’s smart! I often forget to do that and then end up scrambling for connection. Thanks for the tip!
