Help! Getting 'android.process.acore' Errors - Any Fixes?

I’ve been encountering this frustrating error on my Android device, and it seems to be related to ‘android.process.acore’. For those who might not know, this error often pops up with issues in the Contacts and People apps which can lead to constant crashes. It’s really affecting my ability to use my phone properly!

What I’ve Already Tried:

  • Clearing Cache: I accessed the settings and cleared the cache for the Contacts app, but it didn’t make a lasting change.
  • Clearing Data: I also tried clearing the data of the Contacts and People apps. But after a short while, the error came back.
  • Updating Apps: I’ve ensured that all my apps are up to date via the Google Play Store.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps I Consider:

  • Reset App Preferences: Some forums suggest resetting app preferences which might help.
  • Factory Reset: This seems like a last resort as I don’t want to lose all my data, but it’s definitely an option I’m considering.

My Questions:

  • Any Other Solutions?: What other methods have worked for you?
  • Anna: If I go with the factory reset, what’s the best way to back up my data?

I really hope to resolve this without losing my information, so any advice or personal experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated! Thank you guys!

The ‘android.process.acore’ error usually stems from issues with the contacts or the default messaging app. It can cause your device to crash frequently, making it hard to use basic functionalities like calling or texting.

I’ve noticed that it can also be triggered by corrupted data in the Contacts app. Restarting the device sometimes helps temporarily.

I’ve struggled with this for ages! Sometimes it pops up out of nowhere, and it drives me crazy! Anyone else dealt with their phone not recognizing calls too?

Yes! That was one of the first signs for me, along with the contact app crashing all the time.

I found that clearing cache and data for the contacts app worked for me. Just go to settings > apps > contacts and clear the cache! It might help others too!

Good call! I had to do that with mine, along with disabling and re-enabling the app. It was a hassle but worth it!

Is this a known bug with specific Android versions? I’ve read some discussions that link it to older models having software compatibility issues.

I think it affects more users with outdated OS versions. Updating can sometimes resolve these underlying issues, but not always.

Don’t you just love when your phone tells you to ‘just restart’ as if that’s a solution? It’s like a bad sitcom plot - ‘Error returns, rinse and repeat!’

So true! But seriously, is there an irony in needing a functioning device to fix a device that keeps crashing?

I’ve had this issue for a while. Having a reliable device is so important; it’s frustrating when it negatively impacts daily life. I hope we find a more permanent fix soon!

Absolutely! It really makes you appreciate a smooth user experience! Have any of you contacted support for this issue?

I’ve been struggling with the ‘android.process.acore’ error too! One thing that finally helped was clearing the cache for the Contacts app. Have you tried that yet?

That’s a great tip! If that doesn’t work, restoring contacts via Google might be worth a shot too. Just make sure to back them up first!

I’ve also read that resetting app preferences can help resolve this issue. You can find that option in Settings > Apps. Has anyone tried this?

I’ve done that! It worked for me, although I had to reconfigure some settings afterward. Worth it in my opinion!

I faced this recently too. Clearing the cache and data for both the Contacts app and the Contacts Storage ultimately did the trick! Just a friendly reminder to back up first!

Has anyone experienced this error after a recent update? It’s so frustrating! I hope Google has a fix soon.

Yes, I had issues right after my last update too! I think the bugs might be more common with newer versions.
