Do Popsockets Stick to Silicone Cases? Need Your Insights!

I’ve been considering getting a Popsocket for my phone, but I’m using a silicone case and I’m not sure if the two materials are compatible. I’ve heard mixed reviews from friends and on forums about whether Popsockets can actually stick well to silicone cases.

Here’s what I want to know:

  • Compatibility: Are there any specific types of silicone cases that work better with Popsockets?
  • Adhesion: How well do they stick over time? Do they lose grip and fall off easily?
  • Durability: Do the Popsockets damage or leave residue on silicone cases when removed?
  • User Experiences: If you’ve had experiences using a Popsocket with a silicone case, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Additional Considerations:

  • Other Accessories: How do Popsockets compare with other types of grips or phone accessories on silicone cases?
  • Safety: Is there any concern that using a Popsocket might make the phone less secure in certain situations?

Your feedback would mean a lot as I’m looking to enhance my phone’s usability without compromising on safety or aesthetics. Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve used Popsockets on a silicone case from OtterBox, and they’ve stuck really well! No issues so far.

That’s great to hear! I have a silicone case from Speck, and I find that my Popsocket doesn’t stick as well. Maybe it’s just the material difference.

I’ve heard some people say that Popsockets work better on hard cases. Is that true? What about spongy silicone?

In my experience, the stickiness really depends on the brand of case. My friend has a silicone case from LifeProof, and her Popsocket sticks perfectly!

I’ve also noticed that the cleanliness of the case matters! If the silicone is dusty or oily, the Popsocket won’t stick as well. Remember to clean it first!

That’s really good advice! I’ll make sure to clean my case before applying it again. Thanks!

Same here! I had a bad experience when I didn’t clean it, and I lost my Popsocket while out. It was tragic!

Has anyone tried Popsockets with silicone cases from Amazon Basics? I’m curious if they work well with them.

I haven’t tried Amazon Basics specifically, but I find that cheaper silicone cases sometimes don’t hold up well with Popsockets. Just a heads up!

So, is it safe to say that not all silicone cases are created equal? I think a lot depends on the brand and material.

Exactly! Some silicone cases are more rubbery and don’t provide good adhesion. It’s a bit of trial and error sometimes.

I will say, though—Popsockets are a lifesaver when trying to hold my phone. Just wish they stuck better sometimes!

Haha, same! I keep mine on my phone primarily for selfies. The struggle is real with the adhesive!

I think it’s a bit humorous that we spend so much on cases and then hope these tiny accessories stick properly! Just shows that phone accessories can be finicky.

Totally agree! I sometimes wonder if the case makers test their products with Popsockets. It would save a lot of frustration!

I’ve had a Popsocket on my silicone case for months now, and it sticks perfectly! I actually prefer it over plastic cases because it feels more secure.

That’s great to hear! I read that silicone is less abrasive, which might help with the stickiness. What do you think about using it with rubber cases?

Silicone cases in general can be tricky. While they usually provide a good grip, I’ve noticed that some Popsockets can lose grip over time, especially in hot weather.

That’s interesting! Do you think they perform better on harder surfaces like plastic?
